Course Description:

This is a case-based approach course to veterinary internal medicine problems, which concern every clinician, in areas related to digestive and urinary systems. We will learn how to construct different and effective diagnostic programs, how to minimize the list of differential diagnosis and how to achieve the most accurate diagnosis possible. We will learn how to determine the prognosis and the most appropriate treatment.

At the end of the course you will be able to immediately apply what have been learned to your patients.

Course topics

• Dyspagia and Emissions – a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. The causes of swallowing and emission problems, case studies and treatment options.

•  Dysbiosis – the digestive microbia in conditions of health and disease, syndromes associated with dysbiosis and antibiotics in the face of stool transplants.

• Diseases of the stomach and small intestine – vomiting, diarrhea, digestive problems and absorption – access to acute and chronic disease conditions.

• Diseases of the colon.

• Correct interpretation of azotemia, new tools used (SDMA), future markers of renal function.

• A therapeutic approach for patients with acute kidney disease (including ureters obstruction).

• Chronic Kidney Disease – Treatment of the patient's entire range of problems.

• Urine incontinence – new treatments and approaches.
