Dr. Amir Kol DVM, Dip. ACVP  Ph.D in Integrative Pathobiology

Dr. Amir Kol is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologist and a Ph.D in Integrative Pathobiology. Dr. Kol has graduate from the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 2006. In 2008 he came to UC Davis to pursue a residency program in Veterinary Clinical Pathology, and has passes the ACVP certifying board examination in 2011. During his residency Amir has developed strong interest in regenerative medicine and has moved on to peruse a Ph.D in Dr. Borjesson’s research laboratory. In his graduate research, Amir investigated the immunomodulatory properties of mesenchymal stem cells in the context of inflammatory bowel disease. Amir is also interested in the potential key role that naturally occurring diseases in companion animals may play to inform human clinical trials in the process of novel drug/medical device development. In 2016, Amir was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Clinical Pathology at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kol had authored more than 20 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and has extensive teaching experience in Veterinary Continuous Education programs.
